Caltech Environmental Task Force to Celebrate Earth Day
PASADENA—The California Institute of Technology Environmental Task Force will host the annual Caltech Earth Day Fair Friday, April 21, from 11: 30 a.m. to 2 p.m. outside the Winnett Student Center. It is free and open to the public.
The Task Force is joining forces with Amnesty International to address human rights and the environment. The Caltech Vegetarian Club will provide food. There will be live music, and information tables provided by environmental organizations, such as the Los Angeles County Green Party, the Foothill Bike Initiative, the Los Angeles Electric Vehicle Association, the Sierra Club, the California Air Resources Board, and the California Conservation Corps. In addition, Velo Pasadena bicycle shop will hold a raffle at 1 p.m., and the Outland Wilderness store will have a display.
The Task Force includes undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, and staff. Its goal is to reduce the impact that the members of the Caltech community have on the environment. It does this by educating the campus and encouraging the campus community to practice ecological responsibility. The goal of the Earth Day Fair is to promote environmental awareness on campus and in the community.
