Steam Distribution, Deionized Water & Compressed Air Systems

Steam Generation and Distribution

  • Cogeneration Heat Recovery Steam Generator (HRSG) capacity: 44,500 lbs per hour steam at 300 Psig
    • #1 Boiler: 50,000 lbs per hour steam at 285 Psig
    • #2 Boiler: 50,000 lbs per hour steam at 285 Psig
    • #3 Boiler: 58,000 lbs per hour steam at 285 Psig
  • Steam distribution to campus at 55-65 Psig through  a 10" and a 4" piping located in the tunnel systems
  • Steam condensate returned to plant via a 4" line

Deionized Water Production and Distribution

  • Two DI units installed in Central Utility Plant, capable of producing 100 gallons per minute (each)
  • The DI water stored in a 5,000 gallon tank and distributed to campus at 100 psig via a 2" PVC piping located in the tunnel systems

Compressed Air System

  • Two air compressors—one in Central Utility Plant and one in Satellite Plant
  • Centrifugal air compression generation of 1,000 SCFM air at 100 psig (each)
  • Air distribution to the campus via a 4" piping network
