What is Caltech doing about Green Building?

At Caltech we are committed to green building practices, specifically:

• Following the LEED for New Construction (LEED-NC) guidelines for all major new buildings and all major rehabilitations
• Following the LEED for Multi-Building / campuses guidelines for all campus-wide work
• Beginning to develop a LEED for Existing Building (LEED-EB): Operations and Maintenance program for existing buildings
• Instituting green building design and construction practices for all minor new buildings and all minor rehabilitations
• Reviewing the overall campus design guidelines to incorporate green building design standards
• Developing Division 1 of the Caltech construction specifications to incorporate green building practices
